About

Information Enterprises Australia Pty Ltd (IEA) assists both public and private sector organisations to gain control of their information. We encourage businesses to be efficient, effective and accountable through the management of their information. IEA works collaboratively with clients to provide specialist recruitment services in library, records and information management. IEA is also a consulting and training provider and offers a range of supporting documentation and publications.

Well that’s the official bit over and done with.

IEA has been around since 1986, people have come and gone (as they do) but the core group remain. Owner and Director of the company is Shirley Cowcher. Shirley is the big picture thinker and has moved the company from a micro consulting and employment business to the one you see today. Ok, we’re not quite as big as some of the “other” agencies out there, which can have its draw backs when it comes to large contracts and “preferred” supplier lists. But as a Niche specialist employment agency, consulting firm and training organisation – we offer things others cannot – namely expertise. And the reason is simple, we know all about records, library and information management, because we have all worked in the industry. Consequently we have librarians, library technicians, and records & information managers on our staff.

Gail E Murphy is IEA’s 2ic, head consultant and trainer in Records and Information Management. GEM has extensive experience in the Information Management industry and is THE person to speak to if you want to know how to manage your information properly.

Rachel Moylan is the “voice” of IEA. Rachel looks after the people and the placements that forms the employment agency side of the business. If you need information management personnel, and lets face it – everyone does, even if they don’t know they do – then Rachel is the person to speak to.

Webmistress, author and head of marketing is Lorraine. She is the editor of the Australian Record Retention Manual a legal guide for private enterprises who want to know how long they should be keeping those bits of paper for. Believe it or not, the answer isn’t always 5.

We also have support and assistance from a number of people. This group keeps us on the straight and narrow, allowing the rest of us to do what we’re good at.
